Alright y’all I hope you’re hungry because it’s time to talk about one of my absolute, all time favorite (gluten free) meals in Disney: D-Luxe Burger! D-Luxe Burger is located in Disney Springs and serves, you guessed it, burgers. Disney Springs has been seriously upping their food game with each new edition but D-Luxe continues to reign as the number 1 can NOT leave Disney until we’ve been there food destination, here’s why!
D-Luxe Burger can be a little hard to find, tucked back behind the welcome center along the water but this location gives it one of the absolute best views in Disney Springs. They always have the best low key music playing and looking out on the turquoise water, it’s just a remarkably peaceful, relaxing spot. Inside is decorated like a ranch with high high ceilings and rustic accents (Joanna Gaines would be proud of this place I’m sure!) and outside features galvanized metal tables and plenty of shade.
Before we really jump into the food, let me give you the allergy perspective. They do a great job here of consistently 100% of the time bringing a chef out to hear my order. They can do gluten free buns or lettuce wraps (personally I go for the bun but then eat my burger open face). With the bun they do toast it and it’s just fine, I’ve been told the buns are one of the best parts for gluten eaters so it doesn’t add or subtract much for me to get a standard GF bun. For a long time they seemed to have a problem with fries, I would specify the fries were for gluten free me and they would end up in David’s gluten-containing bag (they always just gave us a new order of fries then) but in the last few months they seem to have sorted this issue out. The fries are gluten free and I’ve been told have a dedicated fryer so as long as they end up in the right bag they and the amazing sauces that come with them are safe!
We’ll get to how perfect these burgers are in a second but first let me talk about these fries. 1. They are expensive. 2. They are worth it. No really, paying $7.50 for a large fries is a lot but these are so crispy and fresh and just absolutely delicious they really are worth it. PLUS you get as many sauces as you like, they have 6 to choose from but you can get them all if you want for no extra cost! My personal favorites are the horseradish and chipotle mayo but the garlic ranch is also good as is the buffalo blue cheese and three mustard and honey and the curry ketchup (yes that’s all of them, they’re all just so good!). You can also get regular ketchup and mayo if you want though. (Allergy note: the special sauces come in little cups with lids so no cross contamination).
Okay, burger time right? This burger is, ugh, where do you even start with something this good?! They cook it to medium rare unless you ask otherwise and it comes out so juicy and flavorful and words are failing me, it tastes better than it looks and it looks pretty amazing I’d say so let’s leave it at that! I get the classic cheeseburger although sometimes I ask for extra cheese, it comes with pickles, lettuce, and tomato. Overall it is a messy burger but don’t worry, they leave out rolls of paper towels on every table. I honestly have never even tried the specialty burgers because I love the classic so much but they have some really amazing sounding ones so if you like to change it up let me know how you like them!
Final note: they do also serve milkshakes and adult milkshakes. I haven’t tried these but David has and he reports that they’re good but when you’re 2 minutes away from Sprinkles or Ghirardelli they’re not usually worth the sugar. Most of them also seem to contain some sort of cookie or cake element so I’m not sure if they have separate equipment to make them gluten friendly.
D-Luxe burger has, since the very first bite, been a staple for us. We drive to Disney and love driving directly to the lime garage at Disney Springs, hopping out, stretching our creaky bones, and b-lining it straight to D-Luxe. It’s a BIG meal (which works since we don’t get breakfast on travel days) and is just so good and satisfying and easy it’s the perfect way to start our trip. Do y’all have a traditional first stop when you get to Disney? Tell me about it in the comments and let me know if you’ve tried D-Luxe and what you thought of it!
